Squirrelbait hunt anywhere chair
« on: December 15, 2022, 10:07:18 AM »
Some of you guys may remember the hunting chair made by Squrrebait years ago. I bought one seems like over 15 years ago. I’ve used the heck out of mine and it is still going strong. Just wondered who all may still have one and how it’s doing for ya. Thanks.  Ed [ Invalid Attachment ]

Probably no one here was around back then? I can't be the only customer of that chair. I'll see if I can find an old pic. Tried to upload one from my phone and no go. I ain't too good at this crap.

Foxbo, I like that chair. Does it only work leaner on to some tree or is it free standing too?

Do you have any more pictures?

Howdy Kelly.

There is a third pole attached to the side of the chair that pulls out and attaches to an adaptor at the rear upper portion of the chair. So, you can lean it up against a tree, or use it with the third leg. Works real neat. I'll get those pics to you tomorrow. Nice hearing from you...Ed.

A couple more pics I found. The last pic shows the chair with the third leg in use. I installed the foam pad over the seat.

I have one of squirrelbaits chairs. Use mine from time to time. I like the padding you put on yours. Going to have to try that on mine.

The only Squirrelbait I knew on TG was Mike Mitchum. Did Mike build that chair?

I did a search and it was Mike Mitchum from Winder, Georgia. Seems the last time he posted was June 2022, so he's still around. He crafted the hunting chair during 2008 for a hundred bucks.

Mike is a good guy. I never knew he made the chairs. I hunted hogs with him several times. He was also a good flint napper too. I am glad to see he is still around.

Thanks

We are now taking orders now... and if you are ordering we need one piece of information from you to build yours- how high off the ground do you want your seat level at? 16 inches, 17, 18, 20? Most kitchen chairs are 16...I like mine to be at 20 cause I hunt in some muddy areas. $ 99.95 includes shipping in lower 48 states.

PayPal charges us 2.75 to use the service- if you use that method please add that amount to the price.

Thank you!!!!email [email protected]

Thanks Ray

Ray was another good guy. I hunted with him also.

He was a good knife maker. He also could get a broadhead extremely sharp in seconds using a file and and a strop. He once sharpened one of mine and I just touch my finger to it and I bled like one of his hogs!

I am also pretty sure Mike was a professional welder.

Thanks for the info.

Correct. Mike was a welder. He might be retired by now. A real salt-of-the-earth person.

Mike helped Ray Hammond run Hog Heaven. Ray is in the real estate business. He is a true gentleman.

Foxbo, Thanks for posting those pictures, think I’ll try to build one of those before next hunting season. Are those made from aluminum or something like EMT?
I just made a folding chair from some cypress boards I had laying around. Used it several times over this past weekend. The one you posted is just a good simple design.

Wow! It’s so neat that you saw this thread about your excellent hunting chair. It was fabricated out of steel tubing, maybe conduit? I can’t believe it’s been 15 years. Maybe you should take some orders and build that chair again. And this time charge enough to have a few bucks for yourself. Good to hear from you after all these years.
