I'm 78, and I feel blessed that I have a beautiful place where I can walk a mile or so every day with my dog and shoot some arrows from my 40# bow. It's really not much exercise, compared with what I used to do 20 years ago, but it's something I look forward to every day, and it seems to be enough to keep me healthy, both mentally and physically. The important thing for me is to keep doing it every day, because I really feel the decline if I knock off for more than a day or so. The good thing is that I can still recover what I’ve lost after a few days of getting back in the routine again. When the weather is too miserable, I can shoot arrows down a 15 yard hall in my house and row for a half hour on the rowing machine. But those are not days I look forward to, they just help keep the decline in check, and certainly don't do anything for the dog!
Keep at it, Jeffrey, I’m sure you'll be back at it with your own 40# bow soon!
