I won't be building this year since I retire from the AF soon and I need to get my life together.  Sorry I didn't mention it earlier.  I will, however, sub in if someone needs to drop.

Thank you to everyone for signing up and keeping this thing going.  I am honored to organize this and thank you for placing your trust in me once again.  Please give me feedback at any opportunity, especially if I'm messing something up.  Can't fix it if I don't know!

I've started, but usually start at least 5 times before I get one in my sights...

I'm gonna build something out of leftovers, at least that's my current plan.

Well I am starting on the form in the morning. I have a few sheets of luan in the shop that will glue up into a nice form. I still am undecided on the wood choice. Either dyed curly maple or figured katalox, both with g10 I-beams.

Went wood shopping today. Got some Zebra Wood and some other stuff for myself.
I believe I am going to build 2 bows for the challenge and let the board pick the bow that goes to my victim.

Both will be beamed, hidden under overlays and a possible beavertail grip.

One bow will be some very curly maple and Bolivian Rosewood.  The 2 combos accent each other very much.

The other will be Zebra Wood/Bubbinga.  Maybe Zebra Wood/Jatoba if I have enough Jatoba left.

Then I will keep the bow that does not go for myself!

Well I'm excited to get started. Never had a 'victim' before! :biglaugh:

My hunting season ends this Sunday and I promised my wife I would take it easy for a week with her until I disappear to the garage in the evenings.

The plans are to do a couple of cosmetic touches I have never done like mosaic lines and footed veneers. I've got a new recurve limb profile that has a tighter static tip that I will be using. I have a new to me Jet Mill/Drill that I picked up a month ago, so I will also be milling out an adjustable riser to optimize the limb pad angle for the new limb design.

Looking forward to it and everyone else's progress.

You can see the dot of CA on corners to hold together while I sawed both at once.

Finished the new form with a few sealing coats of paint. Once it’s cured I have an angle iron frame that will keep the form as straight as can be expected for Louisiana.

Who doesn’t hope to nail the correct stack thickness on the first run of a new design? The reality is I will probably be making a couple bows from the form before building the “swap bow” and nailing the correct weight and draw.

Anybody have a link to making mosaic accents? Never done it but they always add a bit of bling...
Stay sharp, Kenny.
