Thanks guys.

I did just now stain one of the blemished ones to see how it looks and how thin I could grind it down safely. Ground this one down to .020 and it looks to be solid.

Most times the grain will be two shades darker under glass and glue. I would keep them natural.

i think it is a great belly wood.  It is in the Mulberry family like Osage.  Always stays red also.

I just got some news that the macular degeneration in my right eye is progressing faster than anticipated.  If the bowyer making my bow has not gotten to far into the build would you switch it to left handed please?
I knew I was going to need to switch but thought it might be a couple of more years.

Off topic, but are you getting injections for this? My wife works in the «eye section» of a hospital and that is why I have heard about this illness. Some people are getting injections in the eyes every 4 weeks.
