Roy, my recurves have I fairly short working portion of the limb. I use a tip wedge to stiffen the tips. They seem fairly quick.
Kenny, that seems similar to mine. Kind wish I would’ve left this one 62”.

Yes Travis, I think the shorter working limbs are the key to quickness.

You guys that build can go to a straight taper wedge and use different length wedges for different draw lengths. My present recurve has  17 in. Riserwith 11in. ST wedge and stays smooth out to 31. Have not went past that but think it would be good for a bit more. That gives about 16 in. Working limb on a 61 in. Bow I expect fora 66in. Bow would at least be 20 in. Riser.

Thanks Roy.  It's a tool tray.  It's a modification to a traditional joiners bench.  Helps keep the work top clear for panel work.  Not so important for making selfbows but it is kind of cool :)

I need a big opening like that to occasionally sweep all the tools into.  😀

I’m thinking of patenting a self dumping bench that the top flips over at 5:15 daily so I have to pick up each day…..
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Sometimes I clean it off before I start work, sometimes not...

Would come with a rake to get everything to a corner...
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Nicholi what are you using to cut the risers out.  It looks like a router ?  Cnc or buy hand.

Yeah Dan,  I am a little worried about that.  I can get my hands on some steel I-Beams if I need to reinforce it :)

Hi Mark,

Thanks.  It's southern pine lumber, 2x10's ripped in half and glued up.  I glued it up so I didn't have to cut the mortise and tenon joints.  Not super fancy but heavy and kinda cool.  The weight is important as I didn't want to anchor it to the floor.  I added some retractable casters so I could move it around my shop.

I'm getting close to spraying some finish. Got the poundage right in the sweet spot I think. I dropped the riser while shaping it. Hit on a sharp glass edge, I'm hoping I can get it sanded out. Not super noticeable but super annoying.

Looks good !!

John that’s a pretty fancy bench there! I like it!

Down to a couple finish costs on this @&$&@$ table and I’ll be all over that tradebow
