My Javelina #2 with my Centaur takedown bow. The woodsman broadhead did its job well. The javelina went less than 30 yards.

After the 1st week of directing traffic and trying to make sure Joe got a Javie before I got serious. I was ticked to have been there when Joe killed the biggest Javies, as story told on Invasion 1, and to have been able to track it for him. I made a couple of stalks that week, on on Psycho, and another on a group, but neither worked out.

So, on Invasion 2 I finally got out and got serious. I stalked up on Psycho, but he played his hand as usual early that morning, and he just disappeared at usual into the land of spikes and thorns for seemingly no reason....

Then I got on a sounder of 9 with the lead javie' being well above average.  They were coming to me just as Psycho was, and I again lopped off a large chunk of distance and found a great place to dig in when they reached about a 40 yard distance....

The spot I picked to dive into only had one option to shoot.  Either they stopped in one exact place or no shot whatsoever. I had to do something and do it fast...

So. I pulled a 'duck under - go behind ", and popped out in an area I could see from my see from my severely limited hide out....

This spot was much better and had a much better approach wall to let them pass by  about 5 feet of perpendicular.  That set up, as I have found for most game animals on an approach trail, to be best. This setup allows the eyes of the 1st animal to pass while the 2nd is oblivious due to the wall, allowing the ability to draw undetected....
