turkey feather question
« on: May 11, 2008, 02:51:00 PM »
How do you all take out your wing feathers? Do you dip them in hot water before pulling like plucking a chicken, or pull them out dry. Can I just use a pair of side cutters to cut them off at the base of the feather?

I use a pair of wire cutters.
Just snip them off as close as you can.

I just done 2 pair of wings. I just cut them with side cutters as close to the bottom of wing.Make sure you seperate them as you go left and right wing. You can do the later but it's easier to seperate as you go.Theirs really not alot of premium feathers on a bird so split carefully.
