This past yr I hunted w/my 47# black widow, 29.5" 2016 and a 170 grn Deadhead.Took 2 deer w/this setup and hit one in shoulder and dropped in her tracks!! The other went 20 yds w/one hell of a bloodtrail! Also shoot Magnus Stingers and Razorcaps w/great success.

Pete,

Thanks for the info on the set up, 170gn head with 47# is hefty indeed. No wonder you got such great results. I'm shooting 50# with a 175gn and am concidering going up on my tip weight. What do you find is a good range for this arrow with the tip weight your using? i've talked to a few people who are using a setup similar to yours, and they were getting a lot a drop around 20 yards. thanks again.

Paul.

Sorry Paul,that bow is a 45# MA(shootin a 47# now). After shooting this setup all spring/summer 3-D, didnt find a problem w/drop at all.Ive been hunting w/trad. gear for two yrs,this being my 3rd,ive taken 7 deer and one was shot at 25yds, all the rest 12-15yds.I wouldnt have a problem shooting a deer @ 30yds w/this setup.Now Im shooting a 47# SAB 29.5" 2016 w/150 grn.This setup flys fast,true,and hits hard.Will be using 150 Stingers.

Terry... have to admit that a two blade is hard to beat. If it has a bleeder blade in it!  :D

Don't mind the blood trail from a two blade either... long as I don't have to bend over to find it. Yeah, two blade w/bleeder.

I just got some Ace 125 standards.  Boy do they sharpen up great!!!  Sharpest I have ever gotten a broadhead.  I even cut my finger the other day with one and I have never done that with any broadhead before.  I had some trouble sharpening Ace 160's years ago.  I don't know if they have changed or I have just learned to sharpen better.  The bevels did seem to be better out of the new package.   Not knowing that I did buy the Tru-Angle files this time also.  Once you get the proper angles set you can use a DMT diamond benchstone or a steel to finish them.

My #1 Grizzly 160gr. if you said you can only have one broadhead this is it for me.

My #2 Delta. Killed a bunch of stuff with this head and is one of the best.

My #3 Snuffer 160gr. Nothing leaves a HOLE like a snuffer, if you have enough Bow to get an exit.

OK, I'll give a little, Snuffer

Ok, That's it, I'm not giving any more help to the multi bladders LOL,

No, there is a time and place for all of the different Broadheads, Just stay with the top quality ones and you'll be fine.

Thats a Snuffer in his front shoulder

No fair, where's the fun in espousing such a sensible broadhead theory? Now I have to go back to a 2,3,and 4 blade each in my quiver....
