NYB Banquet Update
« on: April 03, 2023, 08:15:29 PM »
Due to unforeseen circumstances, our Guest Speaker, Tom Nelson, had to cancel.  Gene Hopkins has signed on to give his presentation "Keeping the Spirit Alive, a Celebration of Our Bowhunting Heritage".  It is sure to be a fantastic engagement, as Gene is a walking encyclopedia of bowhunting history.  The date is still the weekend of May 20th, and the venue is the Sunny Hill Golf Resort in Greene County.

It was another great event. So many great people, brought together by their love of the bent stick.  Gene Hopkins was amazing, as was the display that he brought.  Bear, Easton, Pizza Cutter broadheads, Bob Swinehart's elephant broadhead, which was massive, and an arrow made by Ishi.  Simply unbelievable.  His presentation about the history of archery in the United States was inspiring, and eye opening.  I am sure that he could have spoken for days.  If you came, thank you for supporting the only bowhunting organization in NY that is for hand drawn, hand held bows.  If you didn't, you missed out, try to make it next year.
