Would the Lowa Renegade be an acceptable early season mountain Elk hunt boot?

I’ve owned a couple dozen pairs of Lowa Renegades and while I love the boots, I think they are too light and tend to stretch a little for strenuous mountain hiking. If you do go with them, keep your laces tight and socks heavy.

I have a pair I’ve used a few times. They are some of the most comfortable boots I’ve owned and are very quiet. They lack some ankle support. I think you’d be fine with them as long as you’re not carrying 70 pounds in a pack. I’ve been using Salomon quest gtx for 10 years or so and they’re great lightweight boots with ankle support similar to heavy mountain boots. The last pair I got is a new style and they had a couple of bad pressure points at first but they broke in okay, they are the gtx 4s. The 2s and 3s required no brake in.
