Cracks in limb wedge
« on: April 19, 2023, 07:15:16 AM »
I have an PSE mustang takedown. Both limbs have cracks on bottom of the limb wedge. The glass has no cracks. They are only cracked in the wood.  They were probably caused by over tightening the limb bolts. Are these safe to shoot?

They are safe.. if it bothers you, fill them with some CA glue.. preferably thin.

Most likely caused by drying.. release of moisture. It is extremely common to find cracks in these locations as it is all end grain.

Thank you BigJim, that's good news that they are still ok. I purchased a replacement set of Greatree Ridgefire limbs but the holes for riser studs are oval and the limbs had a gap when strung. The new limbs were also about a half inch out of tiller, obviously they did not shoot well.
