Misspoke myself in previous post, 2016s would be equivalent to 35-55s, 1916s would be more like the 15-35 goldtip spine.

Yeah. Just picked one up. It does seem soft compared to my 400 carbon gt. Even my 500. I don’t remember how they flew back then. But I think I was shooting them out of 50-60 lb compound that’s in the attic. I’d like to measure the pull. Probably lucky it didn’t break off. Mother wouldn’t have known. And store that sold arrows at the time here, would of either

1916's are 55# spine at 28" and should shoot out of 40-45# bows. Your 27" ones should work out of your bows. Put 3-5" helical on them and shoot them. They are a great arrow size.

I’m shooting the 2016’s with 145 grain point cut to 29.5 inches BOP.  I draw 29” and I’m shooting from a 49# Shrew Classic Hunter II with carbon limbs and the bow is cut to center.  Using 3x5” fletch and 24 grain arrow wrap.

My 2016’s I finished and am shooting from a couple recurves that are 46#-48#’s. Both are carbon limbed. I made this set for 3D and “shooting” . The other dozen will be for “stink pig”  hunting. Probably use my old Deadheads on those.

The greatest shafts ever made were 2020's.   Tougher than a pine knot.   Good weight to them.  Wish they would make them again.

Nic pictures. All this aluminum talk made me dig in the bin to try some before I order. I found 3 new 2216s that I had fletched up and never shot. My gosh they are awesome. I actually need the 2219s for my BW. It is 60lb@30". I'll get a set. I never had them with the insert nock but since you can't get Marco snap nocks anymore these insert nocks will be fine. They just don't look right. I mostly shoot wood and aluminum hits pretty much the same as wood.
I just never have faith in carbon. Mostly shoot wood.  I can tune a carbon to perfection and shoot a bare shaft at 25-30-35 yards like a bullet. Then screw on the broad head and it won't settle down. I always wind up shooting weak carbons to get broad head flight.
I'm going to order a half doz and some wraps.

Just a FYI- I got 5 doz 2016's & LOVE 'em! The nocks were VERY tight on them, though, so here's what I did:

1-used a folded over paper towel with pliers to pull them out without marring the nock.

2-if you look at the barrel of the nock that fits into the insert, you'll notice "ribs" that run along the length of the barrel-there's 5 or maybe 6 of them. I took a razor knife & trimmed every other rib off. Now the nocks are still held securely, but can be rotated or removed by hand.

Thanks for the tip! I already had to replace two nocks. It was a pain. Looks like I need to do a bit more tinkering.

Glad to see this offering.  I am a big fan of the original AO shafts.  I have been hoarding them for years.  1916, 1918, 2016, 2018 and 2115.  I probably have a couple lifetimes supply, but it is good to know there is an option if I run short.

Does anyone know if there is a replacement nock that would work with these shafts that has a .115" (2.92mm) throat size?  I primarily shoot wood arrows with Bohning Classic nocks and am too lazy to build a new string with a thinner serving.
