Texas Longbow Championship
«
on:
May 10, 2023, 10:10:53 PM »
Memorial day weekend, in Fort Worth Texas. Be there or be square.
One or two piece (that look like one piece) longbows or self bows. Wood arrows only. Two days, cumulative score. Very fun, very friendly, awesome course with great Texas friendly folks.
Hope to see you on Mary's Creek.

I don't have a bow that will qualify to compete. Anyone who wants to grab lunch while in town, let me know. I'm a local

James I live in Fort Worth as well. I have a bow you could shoot but at
[email protected]
it may be a tad stiff. But you're welcome to shoot it if you want to come out for it.

Gerald, thank you for the kind offer. That bow will be a little stiff at my 30” to 30.5” draw length. I’m not currently worked up to that poundage. Low 50’s is about all I would shoot well at the moment. I live in Richardson. We should definitely plan a time to let some arrows fly together.

Anyone who thinks they don’t have a legal bow, think again. The rules are now a lot more liberal than in the past — the same definition of longbow as most other shoots in the us ( a shame, IMO, but there it is). If you don’t have a longbow but want to come, I can loan you one; just let me know in advance. My bows are all 53-55lb and RH.

All of my bows are three piece longbows. The entry sheet states no three piece bows. I shoot nothing but wooden arrows and have spines all over the board in completed arrows. I would need to borrow a longbow that pulls 53# or less at 30”.

Sorry, my lightest would be over 60 at 30”.
