That's a great hunt; been there three times myself. (all Boggy)

Unless a change has happened in the last few years, you might consider getting up at 3am to beat the 300 folks headed to the two seater bathroom at the camping area. There is always a lot of miserable looking people at 5am when the guy plays the trumpet.

Ill be in my travel trailer or rent one of the cabins so it wont be a concern.

We got boggy Oct 20.  I believe I hunted with you stringwaker in 2008 in boggy. You killed a big black pig that second day.

My wife and I went to the tournament two times, but never hunted.  Last I heard, they no longer had the Velvet Tour, where we saw some lifetime bucks.  It was worth the trip to see such magnificent deer.
On one trip, it was 111 degrees in the shade when we got back to our truck.

LOL...you have a great memory! Weren't you the one that saw my tiny little red ribbon from 200 yards away and was sitting in 'my' tree before I could get back with my stand? :biglaugh:

Ha, no that wasn’t me. Maybe the guy that was driving us. I think his name was Jared.

I drew it back a number of years ago.   My weekend was cold, very windy, raining most of the time and I caught a severe cold.   I coughed so much that I just hung it up and drove home on Saturday night.

That reservation does hold a lot of good deer but I've always hunted by myself, on my time schedule and without the hassle of being a part of an army of hunters and all of their rules just turned me off.   Whenever I think of that place I think of the old song:   "Signs" by the Five Man Electrical Band.

But do be safe.  That place is crawling with mountain lions....some of which I have seen.

Lol, yeah I know.

It's a deep sacrilege to say anything negatory about popular topics and esp that McAlester Ammo Dump hunt.  You won't get an hu'rumpft out of me on that place but my opinion comes from my own experience with that coveted venue.  I'm positive that all others who attend will have a great time and will most certainly do well, especially if they remember and positively obey all of the rules.

Rule No. 1:  Obey All Rules
Rule No. 2:  See Rule No. 1
Rule No. 3:  See Rule No. 1
etc.
