Cancer Stinks! But...
« on: July 10, 2023, 02:41:35 PM »
Hello everyone! It's been a long time away from this site and truly missed. In early October in 2020 I was mowing for the last time before deer season and noticed shortness of breath.

Well , I heard the words that nobody wants hear. " I'm sorry. But you have stagev4 cancer of the lungs and giving you 15 months to live"  Well as you can imagine, my world really changed. Wheelchair, oxygen 24/7 for six months etc.

Anyway, I could no longer bow hunt which hurt almost as much as my chest did. By God's grace, lots of prayers and Chemo , I am going on three years and just bought myself a 59 Kodiak!!! So excited and looking forward to some woods time!Lighter poundage than my Robertsons but it will be awesome. I'm glad to be back!!!

I can afford to shoot most any bow I like.  And I like Primal Tech bows.

Thank you all. They say that I will eventually succumb to it but I'm gonna go out doing what I enjoy as long as I can. Looking forward to letting the Cedar fly tomorrow. Three years since I smelled the woods and I may even chew on a few oak leaves this fall! Good hunting to you all. :archer2:

That's fantastic news Pete.
Cancer is terrible,  been going through it with my wife. She lost half her left lung 3 years ago. Now has a tumor on the right lung but at the moment it's not cancer.
Enjoy your new bow.

My new coffee and Cedar in the morning location.  About 5 miles from my house and will be going there every other day! Thank you for the well wishes and prayers.  I am taking Chemo pills in the morning still but they go down easier knowing I'm going here after!!

I have a son in Austin and may have to seriously consider going to hunt some hogs with you guys!!!
