Howdy!
Still aiming to shoot some squirrels in about a month.
Discovered an archery over-the-counter javelina season in full swing just a couple hours away and scouted once - plan to hit that harder. Season is open until the first of the year.
Updates:
Got to shooting the 30# Razorback pretty well, so bought some 35# limbs and camo'd the whole works.
Could never shoot the 46# Ben Pearson as well as the other two so unstrung and put it in the closet to minimize distractions.
The 55# Tigercat is the winner - for about 3 or 6 shots, then groups open up.
Still that 3-6 shots is likely a full day in the field and the bow is prettier.
I know - need more practice but it's hard to get at 105°+
Dawn and dusk belong to the bird dogs, us desert dwellers are crepuscular.
However, a solid 90° whack into a railroad tie target stand with the 55#'er drove a blunt about 1/2" back into the arrow. So less draw weight maybe.
Really, really wanted a 40# nutmeg BearPaw Slick Stick, but had to settle for a 45# black one that was the only one between 40# and 50# that I could find in stock.
In the mean time I have bought so many points, feathers, a fletcher, silencers that it is getting ridiculous but in general having a fine time playing with it all.
