For testing or everyday purposes , I would go with Barge(thin layers) or sewing double sided tape. Both being easily removed with fingers.
:oLittle warning about duct double sided carpet tape (good stuff) ..BUT....it is ""NOT"" a tempary application product , and ....it ""WILL"" lift finish ...possibly even the wood fibers below the finish .
I've found double sided fabric tape (peel n stick fabric fuse)to work well as a shelf/plate material adhisive. Compatable with all the finishes on my bows. (always wise to do a test area first)Removes easily like barge cement when the time comes for removal , yet made to withstand lots of moisture exposure !
You can find peel n stick fabric fuse tape on line...and at most every store that carries sewing supplies.
Barge cement in any craft shop/leather departments---and on-line.
