Two partners and I ran outfitted hog and javelina hunts on our South Texas lease, after deer season, and it seemed to attract fellows from Canada. As we gathered to prep for the hunt, we couldn't pass up road kill samples of the critters. In that camp had a heck of a cold storage facility, we would freeze them. Yep, end up with just the right guy, take one out and set it up in the dark, and then take him to the spot. The smack of an arrow wacking a frozen critter is pretty funny!

Personally I wouldn’t care if I broke an arrow or 2 shooting them but there are guys who will moan and groan . Some guys act like it’s like losing a child. So be prepared

With my tapered Red Balau arrows and 190 grain tip I just might get some penetration!   Four fletch 5", 29 1/2" TAW @895 grains.

Would definitely make a loud crack.

Nah, got my doubts if that'd actually work Wud   :goldtooth:

I was stumping the other day with my 75lb Blackwidow longbow and 900 grain Red Balau arrows. Early on in the walk, I let fly at a dry cow pat about 30 odd yards off. Happy to say I hit it dead center too, only thing it turned out to be a rock that was disguised as a dry cow pat. With a loud "CRACK" (yes Pine, you were right ) the front of the arrow was instantly turned into chips and splinters. That blunt tip is probably still in orbit somewhere.......

Good hunting to you all.
May the wind be your friend, and may your arrows fly true,
Most of all, may the appreciation and the gratitude of what we do keep us humble......

I shot a 3-d shoot where the club covered all their regular stationary targets with burlap so people would only shoot the 3-d's. Some people still shot the burlap butts anyway but that ended when the club put plate steel under some of the burlap. It doesn't take many clangs to get the message across!

This steel buck was a new target last year at the Tenn. Classic and a steel fox has been part of the Classic for many years. Always lots of splintered shafting around both of these targets.
Make the most of all that comes and the least of all that goes!
