I've been a tab split finger shooter since the early '50s, but so what, who cares but me?
All that matters is what both feels and works best for each of us. Won't know until you give each a GOOD try, not just one or a few shooting sessions.
The reason I prefer a tab is because I can make them out of very thin leather (the tongue of a shoe is a good source that's usually already "broken in") that has the right amount of compromise of stiffness yet yield a good feel of the string.
I'll add - a tab feels as close to using fingers only on the string, less of a cumbersome, restricted feeling, for me, not you.My old workhorse tab, thousands and thousands of arrows launched, still just as good as when I made it 30 or so years ago ....
For a split finger shooter, it's the middle finger that carries most of the string tension load, some on the pointer finger, and little to none on the ring finger.
In any event, if the glove/tab don't fit then just acquit.
