New bow

Just in time for deer season here.

Toelke Whistler. 58” drawing just under 50 at my 30” DL.

This is the quietest bow I have ever shot, and also the best looking. Dan is a stud of a person and a pleasure to talk to. I’ll be tuning it all this week, and have some public land hogs I’ve been eyeing for a couple months.

Congratulations.   I’m seriously considering a 60” Whistler for my next bow.  A little concerned about finger pinching at my 31.5” dl.  That’s is my one and only hesitation.

Hope you kill a stud boar with it.

I will say that Dan is super knowledgeable about his bows. If he says the 60 will work up to 32, I’d trust it.

At 30”, split or 3 under, I don’t feel any pinch or stack. And it’s pretty quick. Good luck with whatever you go with, lots of good bows these days.

Eyeing this boar that has been making frequent late morning stops at this pond on NF land. I’ll get him.

If the local shop had the arrows I need in, I’d be out today. We do have a nice cool  front coming in, at least for Texas standards. Hoping it doesn’t change their pattern too much.

That being said, I was typing this reply when my cameras went off just now at a spot I set up at not far from the other.

These fat sows on the forest land around here eat tons of acorns. At least the ones at these spots do. Low lying spots with ponds and clumps of white acorn producing oaks. They are the best pigs that I have eaten personally.

Congrats on the new bow. Dan called me last week and told me my bow will ship this coming week. One to two months sooner than promised.
54" takedown Pika, 50#@28". I'll try to post pics, but I'm 10 days into the archery elk and deer season so it may take a few days if you know what I mean.

Appreciate it folks. Dan makes a spectacular bow. My first new trad bow and I have zero regrets.

Just waiting on some arrows and I’ll be out in those woods. The free range suckers are always buttery goodness around here. Have some fantastic recipes im waiting to try.

This guy routinely comes to these holes to cool down 2 times a day, for now. Cool front coming in can throw that off, but if he’s there, I’ll find him. If not, those sounders seem to hit it pretty frequently.

I have a Whip (52#, 62") and a Whistler (48#, 60").  Dan makes nice bows.  I visited his shop when headed to Glacier NP.  He knows bow building and is a nice guy to talk with.  I suspect you will enjoy your bow and will soon be posting a picture of a hog taken with it.
