Disposing of Venison Tenderloin
« on: September 16, 2023, 07:43:00 PM »
So this guy I work with doesn't want the T loins from the deer he shoots.
So I told him I could dispose of them properly.
He gave me some last fall and I just trimmed the silver skin off and cut them into pieces the same width as bacon.
Put a few pieces together and used bacon to hold them together.
Then I put olive oil on and McCormick Montreal Steak on them and rubbed it in with the back of a spoon. Both sides.
Now tomorrow I will put them on the charcoal grill before disposing of them.
I think my wife will help me with the final disposal process.
It's a tough job but somebody has to do it.

Glad you could help him out. In style too.

Does eat the rest of the deer? I’ve never heard of any non-vegetarian passing up tenderloins.

He told me he has never tried them. He says they are just too soft and slimey.
I'm not going to invite him to try some because I'm not sure he would let them go.
Buy the way, he doesn't eat the heart either.
He eats the back straps and the rest of the deer gets made into sausage.

I was a meat cutter in a previous life. We had one customer who always wanted the whole Deer ground into burger. Well, just couldn’t let the tender loins be disgraced like that. Traded him a couple cow steaks.

Why on Earth would someone not want the tenderloins? :dunno:

I'm with you, though...don't tell him. Act as if you'll take them...grudgingly.

The Tenderloins rarely even make it to the freezer at my house.  They are usually thrown on the grill while butchering the rest of the deer.   :goldtooth:

What time is dinner? I wouldn’t want y’all to have to do that all by yourself.

WOW! Is he missing out!
I agree w everyone else. Good plan not to let him try them :bigsmyl:
It's really simple. Just don't take those borderline shots. Tomorrow is another day.

Nasty little things. I eat them first just to get rid of them… 😉

I agree with all but I am not crazy about the deer heart or liver. I do bring it out for some buddies that like it. Nothing goes to waste.

Buy the way, I like to cook with alcohol; sometimes I put it in the food.

You're awful cruel to force that food on your poor wife. And then try to get her drunk so she'll eat them. Shame on you!

I agree with Pine. A little alcohol, say a nice glass of Merlot, really enhances what is already perfection. A wee dram of Scotch before dinner really sets the stage for me.
