Is the brace height the same for longbow and recurve, my brace is 73/4 on
recurve. what will the longbow be, it had 63/4 when it arrived, both bow
are Chad Holm, does it matter on the length of the bow and draw length

Generally speaking, no. Brace heights are usually highest on recurves, lowest on ASL longbows, with hybrids somewhere in-between. I don't believe Chad made ASLs, so you're probably talking about a hybrid. Not unusual to have an inch difference between those two designs. Even two recurves of the same design/length made by the same bowyer may have different brace heights. Will have to determine what's best for you through trial and error.

ok thanks, is it like the shorter brace height more speed and less forgiveness like
compound bow. if I have a 40 pd bow at lets say 6" brace would it would be faster than 7"
like compound, is that the same for stick bow, I'm thinking the same principle

In theory lower brace means longer power stroke and more speed. We are only talking a couple fps for me. Tune brace for the quietest and smoothest shot. The bowyer is the best to give recommended brace height for his bows.

Seems what you are asking should not be a general brace height question, but more of a specific manufacturer/bow model brace height question....... granted any bow will have a sweet spot where it performs the best regardless of all else and that would be the optimum BH for that particular bow and if you can find that on your own and happy with the results, that's all good. If you want BH measurements for a particular bow, you're best to contact the bowyer or someone with experience who shoots that particular bow. I think it not necessarily easy to generalize BH from longbow to recurve with there being so many options available these days.
This is all just my 2 cents.

Chad used to have brace height recommendations on his website for all his bows. I could no longer find anything about his bows. I know I tend to lean toward the higher side of recommended on my bows. My 2 60" River Runners seem to like around 7 3/8 inches. My 64" Goshawk longbow Chad made is about 7 1/2 inches.
