Nice, crisp morning here in the deer woods. Mid-20’s when I went out. Got setup on a mostly white oak ridge. White oaks didn’t do much if anything around here this year. Little after 8 I was lamenting not even seeing a squirrel when I heard walking behind me. Turn around and see a doe browsing on up. Then hear more walking and there’s a small button buck that was directly behind me as well. As luck would have it they both walk directly to my tree. Both are standing about 3ft from the base of my tree. The bigger one looks up at me while chewing but doesn’t think much of it. That was when I decided I could go ahead and take the shot. Pretty close to straight down, back 4” farther than I had hoped. Ran off like a scalded cat while the other one stood there looking around. About 45 seconds later I heard it crash. The ole PLX 2 for 2 so far this year and 4 for 5 in the last 3 years. Didn’t even lift a bow off the hook last year. I don’t know why I take anything else besides the PL.
