One evening I was in one of my short stands. It’s only 8 ft maybe, but I zip tied some big leafy branches up there to break me up, and I wear my goofy homemade guhlie hat.
Well here comes a lone doe, perfect. She’s heading right at me, but there’s a trail about 5 yds away where she will probably turn. I’m already at 1/2 draw and on the edge of my seat. As she starts to turn I hit full draw and awe or hits low in the heart. 40 yd dash and it’s over. And now I see the fawn, dang, I would have preferred to just shoot the fawn, it comes through just a little farther but easy range, the second arrow flies, solid double lung. 25 yards and a few seconds later it’s over. Time to get to work
