Rapids Archery Trad Shoot
« on: January 15, 2024, 04:24:20 PM »
Hello everyone it is that time of year to set your calendar for the 33rd Annual Rapids Archery Traditional Shoot, this year's event will be held on June 8 & 9. For those that are new to our shoot it is setup as 3 themed loops (Minnesota, Western, and African) with a total of 60 targets. We have vendors onsite plus we also have on site primitive camping and food concessions. There is also potluck BBQ supper on Saturday night put on by the club members. For more information you can check out our website at www.rapidsarchery.com. Hope to see you there. :archer2:

I am no longer in the midwest but I remember that shoot well. One of the very best set up courses I have ever shot. Highly recommend it for sure.

It's a fun shoot! Only thing is I end up buying stuff every year. Hope my son wants to go this year. Is that fathers day? I think it's open to anyone traditional.

The shoot is open to anyone shooting traditional equipment. The dates have moved to the weekend before Fathers Day (6/8/24 & 6/9/24) due to other scheduling conflicts. So mark your calendars, and keep the questions coming. :archer2:

This is a great shoot. However, if you want to really have fun, do what my Wife and I did last year.  We have zero interest in scores which really frees you up to enjoy shoots.  So, we shot Cloverdale on Friday morning and then shot the Rapids course on Saturday and Sunday.   Had a blast.  If you can, give it a try

I hope they have kept up with their poison ivy spraying. I didn't have any issues with it last year, but I was very careful to stay away from it. Otherwise it's the best shoot in the upper Midwest. Great facilities, a lot of vendors, good food and friendly people.

We have crew of members that sprays for Ivy every year. It is still on the range in places but we are winning the war. We well be spraying again this year. We also try our best to avoid areas that have not been treated yet. Hope you and your wife well be back this year.

70 days to the Rapids Archery Trad shoot, mark your calendars for the event before someone volunteers you to help move that brother in law that is always AWOL when you need a hand. Hope to see you on June 8th and 9th. Check out www.rapidsarchery.com for more info. :archer2:

There are still some spots left for the FREE Jim Ploen shooting seminar. We are also having a Saturday afternoon Trade Blanket sale, so if you have some used equipment that you want to find a new home for bring it along. There's also going to be a 12x12 Cabela's Alaknak Tent for sale, it is the original style from the 1990's.

Just 2 more days until the fun begins at Rapids Archery. The setup crew well be out inforce on Friday getting the course set and ready for your shooting pleasure. The weather forecast is looking fantastic so it should be a grand time at the shoot. We are looking forward to seeing all our old friends and making new ones. So if you are at the shoot, stop at the big white tent out back and say Hi to Fallguy and ask how he got his handle.  :archer2:
