Wind conditions much better for the next 3 days...

25 Mille an hour winds with 40 mph gusts had them shut down a little the 1st 2 days.

How about a little mountain lion  adventure?

Blake was sneaking out of his hide on a grassy
sendero  and he stopped for a moment  and slowly raised his bow. He then came to half Draw, then full draw and held a few seconds and then let down.  Skip and I were watching and had no idea what he was drawing on but we figured a rabbit as he was close to the intersection of his sendaro and a wide pipeline strip.

He then came on out to where Skip and I were at the hub. He was all hyped up! He drew down on a mountain lion!



The lion was now paralleling the pipeline,  so I eased across and started stalking down the pipeline.  The bush was on my right so I had to stalk backwards so I would be in position to shoot if given the chance.  I went for 100 yards or so.

No luck, but it was a rush for both of us for sure.

A great hunt with a great group of guys.  Javis seemed to want to join me in the brush.  I shot mine on the last day at 7 feet.  Double lung!  I'm a decent shot at 7 feet.  It ran 15 yards.  It still took a few minutes to find.  Terry helped via phone.  I also managed to take one of those small skittish rabbits too. Can't wait until next year.

Kodiak Fan deserved that one.
I want what ever week he is in camp next year.  He cooked breakfast every day, and it was very tasty and plenty to go round!

I can say that Kodiak Fan (Jim) did an unreal job of filling our bellies before we headed out to hunt. Overall I think I gained weight on this hunt.

I can say I've only been back to work for 2 days but I already miss hunting those little stink pigs!

The mountain lion was in the same area that KSshrewman Larry Myers saw the 1st week, and he took a photograph of some cat scat and I found some older scat in the same area uyesterday. 

Seems like the hook at the end is a common trait of lion scat most times and both of these have the hook....

Terry, quick question. The night pic's at the top of page six, is that the same area where Gary had his feeder hanging ? Almost looks like the same tree.
