The Scout? Or "Ground Pounder"? LOL....

Tim Cosgrove and Henry Bodnick have worked some magic...I shot this in K-Zoo.....a 50 inch hybrid (not quite a recurve, not quite a longbow). I ordered one in a camo pattern, 50 inches, 50 pounds. No finger pinch at my draw length at all. I shot it knealing, sitting on my butt....this bow just might be my "Gound Pounder", and accompany me and my Waldrop Pack Seat this fall....

I was so torn between the bow you took home and the 52" Classic Hunter I went with after much angst!  Next year.. The struggle is on full volume today at my home bales! Probably 300+ shots with my only arrow that works with the new stick..Tuckered out..
The Nock point is getting pretty high(3 under) but I think I'm getting somewhere now 3\4 under the nock! rubbed the graphics down to bare on the carbon shaft..also my first go with carbon..always shot fat wood stuff but none worked from the 48 so here i am taking new trails galore! Might still go more tomorrow on the nock height. Its got me twisted up right now but I have arrows coming Wednesday and we will see where I'm at then. My 48" 48# Supermag is already lonely. I think this Shrew is going to be sweet but I still am just getting started and it'll probably be a while before I get to where I was at with my Smag, I had my magic dialed so perfect for 3-4 cold shots in the morning with it..now I feel like I can't see straight and everything is all goofy!! Lol its getting real, quick!

What is your set up and your draw length..I'm about 29" on a 400 with 200gr up front 33" nock throat to the point tip. Might end up finding the need to shorten up..

Thanks for the input Roger. I haven't been able to shoot any of the Shrew bows, but I was intrigued when I heard about the Scout. I do love the new hybrid short bows.

I didn't keep that one, I am having them make me a Chameleon (camo) version. 50 inches, 50#. I draw about 27 inches. I will use (most likely) 500's cut to 28 1/2", with 250 grains up front.

Ok thanks for the info..it would probably sound crazy to most folks but this 52" Shrew feels long to me coming from a 48".. Lol.
I had time to Chat with Henry and was happy to hear him say there might be a interest\proto\experiment in the future with a 48" bow! I like the short bows hunting from the ground sneaking on hands and knees through brush tunnels..also may go up a tree or two this season going to get a couple stands this year for my daughter and myself..Just can't see my way into longer than this 52" Shrew..

Roger and Joel, have you guys shot other short hybrids, i.e. Elkheart, Pika, Thunderchild, etc.?  I was wondering how you would compare the Scout and Classic Hunter to them? I too am fascinated with the short hybrid bows.

Come on guys, you're killing me!!! My wife was with me at the show this year, and I promised her no new bow this year except for the one we got from St. Joe to surprise our grandson for his birthday.  I'm starting to regret that decision, I went so far as to not take any over to the shooting range so I wasn't tempted!!!  This was one of the bows that peeked my curiosity. Now I'm thinking I may have to call Tim and talk with him.  (me praying for forgiveness since that's easier than permission)

I have shot ElkHearts, and they are excellent bows. I don't think the ones I shot were 50 inches though.

Thunderchild owners seem to love them, I suspect they are excellent also.

My Shrew CH is supposed to be 7-3\4 brace and I'd suspect the Scout to be almost the same as far as recommended height goes..

I have not, my background isn't very deep, A couple Supermag48s and a Kodiak Magnum..now a short longbow.
