DIY Side Quiver for small game and 3D shoots

8-9oz leather left over from a half hide I'd gotten years ago at Dixons, 23" length on the bottom long side, sits nice off a belt I made near 2 decades ago. No need for pockets and do-dads, just a leather lace for arrow separation, all stitching is synthetic sinew.

The hipster quiver I just made is the short version and if you want more control of the arrows or have arrows much longer (nock to point TIP) than 28-29", just increase the working quiver length from 8" to 10-12", or even longer.  A lanyard of 1/8" leather shoelace at the bottom of the quiver makes for a good leg tie, to keep the longer quivers from flopping around during walking/trotting.

Also, the angle of the belt loop piece can be lessened for a more upright angle of carried arrows.

I'll draw up and post a new modified hipster quiver plan that's longer and with a lower belt angle.

Laid out as below, rough side up for a right hand carry, smooth side up for left hand carry.

Cut lengths are shown as 8",10" and 12", and the belt hang is at a shallower angle.  I have enuf leather left to do a slightly modified 10" length and will post the results on the hip quiver thread.

So, I got a BW red/black camo PMA coming in May. Of course I need a new quiver for the new red/black arrows. The black leather shoulder and red thread arrived from Tandy. I have a pattern just like your pink one but I am thinking of altering it a bit. When the piece at the top is folded over to make the belt loop it leaves that area between the loop and top of arrow pocket with flesh side leather showing. I usually cut a piece of leather and glue it face side up so the flesh side doesn’t show. I am thinking of extending my pattern so it’s all one piece. When I fold it over I will stitch the belt loop and then the edge that is now inside of the arrow pocket. Does this sound like an option or do you think it will be a pain to handle everything at once when I am sewing it up?

I've done that, it worked just fine for me ... the caveat is having a piece of leather that's large enuf.

Yes.  But the belt loop can be separate and stitched into the quiver itself - just make sure it laps over the quiver leather so that arrow points don't get hung up.

Looks great!im with you on the no need for extra pockets and dodads on the quiver itself. I’d rather have a separate pouch on my belt for the extras. Though I do like a string to tie a spare tab to. Here’s a similar style I recently finished for a lad.
