Terry
I shoot a Kanati long bow. Beman Center Shot 600 spine 30" long 28 1/2" draw. Arrows are 7.0 gpi use a brass 50 gr. Inserts and a 175 VPA 3 blade. 21.5 percent FOC. at about 160 fps. Most shots were at 15 yards. 3 from the ground 1 from a 15 foot tree stand in the last four years. Before that I used Deltas Snuffers and Magnus Stingers. Best blood trails with Vpa. Been shooting bows since 1969.

Thank, and I agree with you on blood trail but must add Z Delta 4 blades as well. Most don't need a trail at all.... just listen for the crash within 30 yard!

I'll be shooting 500 grain easton axis with VPA 3 blade 1 1/4 out of my new Wessel recurve.
A generous PBS'er is going to show me how to sharpen the Delta 4 blade's as I have a heck of a time with them. Wouldn't mind shooting them either

Bro killed 2- 3.5 year old whitetail bucks a couple years back with a 42@28 - 54" D/R , Beman 500s Centershots with 200 grain VPA on front, right at 500 grains.
One stuck in the dirt and the other slightly quartered, fell out first jump.
He does hunt close , and is real selective on shots.

For bow weight I stay around 55#, arrow weight is usually 625 to 725, depending on what materials, carbon or woods. I like all my weight up front and usually will find ACE, Grizzly, Abowyer or Tuffhead at the front.
