need some trad help
« on: May 18, 2008, 05:29:00 PM »
i picked up a recurve last mar 07  a martin dreamcatcher  50 #
and in sept and oct 07  i harvested  my first 2 trad bow kills on whitetail
6yd ground shot button buck
20 yd treestand shot adult doe field dressed 85 lbs

needless to say i was very happy

i was using easton carbon areos or something like that and a magnus 2 blade 125gn head

my groups can be shakey at times i want to go heavier i think this will help

want to try something around 170-180  but heck 200 would prolly be good two

i just need some advice

i have no problem with buying from sponsers of the site so feel free to provide links

i want to stick with a 2 blade cut on impact head

also i need some heavy field tips to pratice with too

i have hear there are weightd inserts and brass washers to help with adding weight  but i doubt i could get old inserts out with out tearing the shafts up

thanks in advance

I use Heratage 250 with 100gr.brass inserts, plus 175gr.points.Total weight is around 633gr.I also shoot a 63#Bear Super Kodiak @29".Shoots nice with a good punch behind it.As far as finding differant weight set-ups,3-Rivers and Custom King can set you up with what your looking for.
