I came home yesterday to start my spring break early. I spent the morning catching redfish and sand trout. Around 4:30pm I checked the wind, saw it was it was blowing from the east and decided to grab my bow for an evening hog hunt. I got set up in some palmettos under the feeder on the property. About an hour later 5 hogs came out. After drawing and letting down 4 times (Danged ole pigs are always moving) i picked my spot right above the knuckle and released on the biggest sow at about 14 yards. The arrow impacted a few inches higher than I was hoping, driving through top of the shoulder into the spine just clipping the top of the lungs. My knife quickly came off my belt to dispatch her. Every day in the woods and on the water is a blessing, but it sure does feel sweet when the outing is successful. The bow was 60@31 old mountain Mesa longbow shooting a 3 rivers autumn orange 2117 tipped with a 2 blade no mercy if anyone cares to know.
