I went for several years only owning one bow as it met my needs and suited my style of shooting. As my bow arm shoulder deteriorated, my old favorite became too heavy, both in draw weight and in mass weight. This year alone, I have bought and sold/traded 5 bows. All of them were good shooters and great craftsmanship, just a bit too much mass weight or the grip/riser was too bulky for me. A couple of months ago, I bought a used Centaur, 62" and 43#@28" and it was made in April of this year.
I may have found my new "old favorite"! The Centaur is light in the hand and draws smooth. Shoots a hunting weight arrow with authority and it points naturally. I had wanted to try a Centaur for quite a few years, but being a lefty, I'd never run across one to try. When this deal came up, I just couldn't pass on it and I am glad I didn't.

I have to echo what Mike said about the Centaur longbow. I just made a trade for one, and like Mike, this is the first one I've shot. Only been shooting it for a week, but it shot well for me immediately. I can't wait to see what it's like once I spend more time with it.
Extremely glad I made the trade.

Here is a new Sasquatch Special with hybrid long bow limbs that is heading to Canada this morning.

Kirk, what woods are on that Riser?

The wood on this bow is black walnut, or clairo walnut. Here is the build album for it, and several more walnut bows.

This 2024 “Flatliner”  is Curly maple and black walnut.

This one is English walnut I harvested on my ranch.

This one is rosewood.

I have many other photos and albums if you want to see more.

That English walnut bow has a Bloodwood I beam.

Here is one with a radius back shaped riser and a G-10 i- beam.

For you TD Bear fans, I just finished up putting some “Bare SS” static tip recurve limbs together for a guy in IN that I thought I’d share with you. This is the new Fred Eichler riser, 17.5” in length with #3 limbs making a 62” bow.

Black walnut wedges with both green and brown colored glass.

Mr. Brian Wessel built me a new recurve, this fall will be my first deer season with it!

Picture is of me with the bows maiden voyage hunt up @ Stickflingers. Great trip, no bear brought home for me so looks like the bows first kill will be Iowa whitetail!

Then it’s off to Laredo Tusk Roundup for some javies in January!

Kirk -- The deep hooks on those "Bare" TD recurve limbs must bump up the performance over the standard Bear TD limbs. Is my guess about that correct?

The 2024 TimberGhost TGX has made 56 hunts this season...don't know what more could I ask for from a recurve for hunting. However, I would love to own a 62" TGX if Kent decides to build one.

I still maintain a constant itch to hunt with a longbow. Jim Neeves, of Centaur Archery, shipped my Centaur Triple Carbon Elite today. I am stoked as I am quite familiar with the Triple Carbon Elite. This bow is to be in the field soon after Christmas shooting an arrow tipped with a Simmons Great White.

Yes sir they definitely classify as high performance limbs. These are static tip. i've built a lot of them over the years and am still taking quite a few orders for them.

I also build a Hybrid long bow limbs for these Bear risers that have become real popular too. This one the limbs are mounted on my own aftermarket riser called "The Big Foot Bare" I build these in a couple different sizes not offered by Bear in an A+ = 17.5" length, and a B+ which is 21.5".

This is a B riser length

And here is a B+ riser that i actually have in stock. These risers take my own Bare limbs as well as most stock Bear limbs.

here is a set of the hybrid limbs on an A mag riser that i restored.

50 year birthday bow from wife. PMAX 64 inch 53@29 (lightweight so I can use it a long time 😁), bocote and black fiberglass with Dads custom grip they still have on file at Black Widow. Got it in October and I’ve killed a buck and a doe with it.
