How many Moosejaw shooters on here?
«

Just thinking about picking up a razorback and was wondering how many Moosejaw shooters there may be on this site? Any opinions on this bow would be appreciated.

As you and I discussed before, I have an earlier Sentman model, and its frickin' awesome. I don't know if you could go too wrong. It seems like, from all my looking around, that his bows evolved constantly with each model and year, and the Razorback seems like the high point of the evolution.

Gary's bows were very popular back when we started Tradgang in 2003. For the next decade his bows were mentioned frequently on this site in threads and threads were started about his bows.
Even though his bows are not spoken of often any longer doesn't mean that his bows are not great weapons. His bows speak for themselves even if Gary can't.

I always wanted a Moosejaw bow and now have the opportunity to acquire one. Was interested in folks opinions with their bow currently, since Gary hasn't been in business for some time. Won't effect my choice much, just curious.

You'll have to give us a review, once its in your hands, and you've done some shooting. I'm curious to hear your thoughts, and to see what you make of the length.

Thinking it will be a decent hog stalking bow, my longest is 62". I'll spend some time shooting from my Millennium seat/chair, as well. It will be one of my lighter bows, but still be able to shoot the tapered wood arrows I have.

Poundage-wise it is in the bottom half of my herd. Should allow me to shoot it a bit longer. 66" will be interesting, but it's only a couple inches and probably will be smoother shooting.

I pull my 66" an inch over marked draw length, with zero signs of stacking. I think it will be smooth as silk.

Haha, the waiting is the hardest part, no matter how old a guy is. See my above post regarding the HH Big Five, LOL. I've been wanting to shoot that bow for OVER TWO MONTHS!

Might name this one, "Last One". I already have several really nice shooting bows. Or "Ultima".

White tube was in my living room when I got home from work this evening. Razorback is one of Gary's bows that he wasn't able to hunt. Here are a few pics from my phone in the living room with poor light. Unstrung profile, riser, limb tip, strung profile. I'll have to get some in good lighting. Marked 66" 60#@28, may not get to shoot it until Monday, but it sure draws smooth. The grip feels like a "real" longbow. Like the wiggle in the limbs, but it arches nicely. Pics are again distorted, I'll have to have someone with a better phone take some pics.
