New side quiver on the market - 3Rivers Side Quiver
« on: June 28, 2024, 07:17:25 PM »
I was just scrolling through 3Rivers website and saw that they have a new side quiver.  It looks pretty nice and the price is right.  I may have to try it out because my old dog ware quiver has seen better days.

I think the Safari Tuff side quiver is the best out there.  It’s comfortable with a well thought out design.

So jr1959, I take it by your comment that you have tested the two side by side?

I use my Riverwolf mainly to carry extra ammo.

I love a side\back quiver! Tried many times to adjust to a bow mounted setup but my style of hunting had me unloading the quiver and setting arrows around me..not to mention I hate having anything on my bow. At the 3d course it really comes in handy with managing 3 kids worth of arrows in addition to mine!

To clarify my original post, I know very little about side quivers.  I am very interested in the history behind them and am very impressed by the work Riverwolf put into the design. That said, from here on out, I will stick to what I know and take my Hill-style back quiver into the woods because if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.  :biglaugh:

I only use bow quivers, but I can see where this might come in handy in certain situations like blinds.  It is a nice looking quiver, and I also like that its not camo.

Michpatriot, just curious, what is your style of hunting?

E.T. all, I also would like to know how sturdy this quiver is.

Hmmm.  I always use bow quivers, but I think I'm going to purchase this style just for kicks.  It "may" work for certain situations better. I take my bow quiver off when I hunt from blinds and lean an extra arrow up against the blind in front of me.

I would also like to know Michpatriot's hunting style to see what else I might could use it for.

This looks like a well thought out design.  Like many of you, have used various quivers over my bowhunting time.  I have used a side quiver off and on for decades from a home made design to a latigo side quiver, safari tuff arrow master.  It is nice to have the flexibility in stalking, 3D shooting or roaming.  From my perspective, the one thing that really sets this one off is the placement of the pocket.  This allows other material to be carried and not change the weight distribution of the quiver.  Other one's place them to high and when add a multitool, stringer, keys or other things, cause the quiver to "ride" more forward.  This pocket placement will keep the F.O.C. down, and keep it riding where it should.  I tried this years ago with a home made design that proved it to me.  With the quality, I will be ordering one soon.

I'm going to purchase one for several reasons. I have an original style Arrow Master from when Ed Jenkins owned it and I have used in on a lot of occasions where the bow quiver wasn't needed, or was still used and I needed the Arrow Master as well.  On hunts were there are lots of rabbits available along with hogs and javies, I put my small game arrows in a side or back quiver and my hog and javie arrows are in my bow quiver.  Once I go into pursuit of the larger game I ditch my back/side quiver, and move in from there.

This one being more ridged will pack better in my duffel when I fly.  And, I could use it along with my carry one as my "personal item" and stuff it full of socks, extra Tshirts, and other personal items.

I also think this would be a great addition to all the other Sponsor goodies for the 28 hunters scheduled for the Laredo Tusk Roundup to check out and take along with them for a day or two if they wish.

I'll post more about it when I receive it....  :campfire:
