Only reason I don’t use vanes more is I have a closet full of feathers. But I did make up a dozen arrows for the new Widow with vanes. As for rests, I use the old fashioned brush rest. I modify it to sit closer to the shelf. I had one fail once since 1972 and that was because the tape failed in the heat. As I side note, I watched Bill Matlock shoot arrows with vanes off his LB, no rest, just the shelf. He just had the nock point higher than normal. Vanes and raised rests have been around since JC was messcook on the Ark.
