Terry , you should write a book. I’m sure you have lots of adventures to tell about.
Seems there aren’t as many good traditional hunting books being written now as there were in the past. With that said, I enjoy more of a story than an actual how to book. Although if I happen to learn something thats always a plus.

I want real books just like real bows.  :archer:

I prefer books. I’ve read some on my wife’s Kindle and I don’t hate it, I just prefer a book. I’ve read some of my favorite books over and over and just prefer a hard copy.

I do have a Bible app on my phone and it’s excellent. I have my phone on me all the time like most people nowadays and it’s amazing to have the Bible with me all the time as well.

We did nothing but hard copy books for many years. My wife worked for a book distributing company for quite a few years, and we loaded up big time.... but... after i got my first kindle fire i was hooked on this method. i love the fact they can be read at night without lights, and the cost of books are better if you down load them.  i read about 4 books per month at least, and got an Amazon Prime  subscription which includes all the books you can read in Kindle Unlimited for $9.99 per month.... That saves me a lot of money over a years time.

Now writing a book is a whole different ball game. I've been working on a couple for years now on bow building. The writing part is fun, but the whole getting it edited and published is a nightmare. An expensive undertaking too if you want hard copies published.  Finding the right publishing company is tough to do also.... I've always got got discouraged looking into it, and never finished the books either.

Good luck with that Terry....    Kirk

Kirk, you should look into letting amazon publish it.  I hunted with a guy last year that has written several, and that's what he does.

Generally prefer books, but commuting an hour plus each way to work over the last few years has really got me hooked on audiobooks.

Kirkll,

Reach out to me if you'd like some help with publishing directly through Amazon. I'd be glad to share what I know.

I have three big bookcases in my house that are full of books.  They are as much a part of my life as the pictures on the walls.  I would miss them if they were gone.

However, the only new print books I have bought in the last ten years or so have been a few books that I thought might turn out to be classics, or books that I really need open in front of me when I use them, like cookbooks or language books, where writing my own notes in the margins is an important part of using them.

For entertainment, it's been almost entirely e-books, which I buy at the rate of one or two a month.  Actually, I wonder how much longer the e-books will be around.  My impression is that the younger generation doesn't read many books at all, preferring to get their entertainment from videos or video games.
