I have three big bookcases in my house that are full of books. They are as much a part of my life as the pictures on the walls. I would miss them if they were gone.
However, the only new print books I have bought in the last ten years or so have been a few books that I thought might turn out to be classics, or books that I really need open in front of me when I use them, like cookbooks or language books, where writing my own notes in the margins is an important part of using them.
For entertainment, it's been almost entirely e-books, which I buy at the rate of one or two a month. Actually, I wonder how much longer the e-books will be around. My impression is that the younger generation doesn't read many books at all, preferring to get their entertainment from videos or video games.
