VPA Broadhead sharpening
« on: September 05, 2024, 02:27:09 PM »
So i have been shooting my VPA single bevels over the summer and have bought a KME broadhead sharpener to sharpen them up with. Well not sure why but even set to max angle i can't match the bevel angle of existing bevel. I've watched videos on youtube where they are using the same sharpener and it seems to be working great. Not sure what to do? should i just grind it to the max angle im getting on the KME or am I gonna have to just bite the bullet and hand sharpen them? Any advise?

Thx

Which KME sharpener?  I have the knife sharpener with the broadhead jaws and works fantastic.  I have never used the one you run across a flat stone.

I have the KME Broadhead sharpener from 3rivers. It’s “Made to do broadheads” and there’s videos showing it working but mines about 30deg at most and my single bevels are 35%.

I have a good friend that uses that sharpener.  I will get some ideas from him.

There is a guy on YouTube that has a video of sharpening them. I believe it is green Mtn or something like that.

Just sent you my cell number. Call if I can assist. Been using single bevels for a few years and feel like I’ve figured it out.
