Preferred carbon arrow

What’s your preferred carbon arrow? I used a lot Carbon Express Eritage but once they discontinued them I am mostly using Easton FMJ 5mm for my 400 spine and Fred Eichler Legacy for the 500.

I generally shoot GoldTip.  But I had to go to a different spine and had always like Easton Aftermath shafts.  I ended up picking up two dozen on the big auction site.  They were discontinued by Easton some time ago.

I've shifted entirely to Big Jim's Dark Timber shafts for my carbon shafts (I shoot wood too) and for shafts I make for my kids and to keep around for visitors to shoot.  They're durable, Big Jim's service is great, and I can't shoot the difference between +/- .006 and +/- .002 straightness.

I really like the Easton Axis traditional 500 but don’t know if they still make them.Have you looked at SafariTuff Taipan. I have heard good things about them, but no experience with the personally.

I shot Carbon Express Heritage as well and still have quite a few, but I have pretty much swapped over to Big Jim's Dark Timbers and have been very satisfied with them.

I shot Easton 6.5  bowhunter shafts for a long time. A drop in bow weight needed a 600 spine shaft that was not available in the 6.5. Picked up a dozen Dark Timbers at Cloverdale and couldn’t be more pleased! The first 6 I made up all finished within 3 grains. Can’t get much closer than that. Durable, precise, look good and a great price!👍🏻🏹

I like Victory Vforce and I really liked beman Centershots.  I have heard nothing but praise for the Big Jim Dark timbers,  I plan to try some when I run out of victory arrows.

Felix,
I took out my Tall Tines bow and shot with a variety of arrows. It is 52#. It really likes the black Easton FMJ 400.

Also took out my Liberty Edge (44#)and my St Patrick Lake Mushin Styx. (48#) Both really like my Easton Axis Traditionals 500.

In all cases, I experimented with different head weight, to good results.

I primarily shoot wood, but I’ve dabbled with just about every carbon out there. When I want to shoot carbon, I always go back to Gold Tip Trad Classics with the ballistic collar system.  The can be pricey, but they are hard to beat.

For the last year and a half or so I've been running Skylon Archery Quantics (similar diameter to the Easton Axis but cheaper) and so far I've got no major complaints.

I've always shot GoldTip Traditionals and been happy with them. I tried the Classics once but didn't like them as much.

I like 5 mm diameter shafts with 3x3” feather fletching.  Front end insert plus point weight of about 250 grains.  Arrows fly great right off the shelf of my recurve and hybrid longbows.  Easton makes a good 5 mm carbon shaft.  So does Alaska Bowhunters Supply.  Their shafts are expensive but you can usually pick them up once or twice each year for about 60% of regular price.  Got a dozen shafts last week for $100.

I too shot Carbon Express Heritage and Beman Traditional Classics, both great shafts til they went away. I switched to 5mm Easton FMJ 400… Great arrows but they can bend so keep an eye on them. I also took Victory RIP TKO 5mm Carbon to Africa with great success. Lighter per inch so easier for increased FOC. Baseline is Easton 5mm FMJ 400
