New State Record
« on: May 22, 2008, 01:35:00 AM »
A hunting buddy of mine from South Dakota just sent me a pic of his son, Logan Fontenelle, who just claimed the new South Dakota state record for carp.

I know there are bigger carp out there in other states, but...

This beast weighed 42 lbs. 14 oz. and beat the old SD record of 37.7 lbs.  The carp, 42 inches long and with a girth of 28 inches, was taken with a traditional recurve on May 11.

Can anyone guess the make/model of bow?

Sure is big.  You could probably make about 40 carp pies with that thing.

Now South Dakota, should pay him, to have that carp, mounted and put on display.  And that in itself would be a first also.

Because I've never seen a carp mounted !
