Norm Johnson Blacktail Hunter One Piece?
« on: October 16, 2024, 12:02:16 PM »
A friend just found a near new one piece Blacktail Hunter made 11/1/1994 in his basement. He didn't know he had it and can't remember where he had gotten it. I have shot a few 3 piece Blacktail Elites, but never knew about a one piece Blacktail Hunter.

Does anybody know anything about details or history of the bow back then. This one is 54# 58". He called me back and it is 62".

Just curious. He is giving me the bow.

Thanks. I had and shot the Elites that were gorgeous, fast and smooth. I didn't think he was still around after he sold the business.

He is going to send me some pictures when he gets home. I will post them when I get them.

With my bad shoulders and a 30" draw I doubt I will be able to do the weight. It may wind up a wall hanger.

I had one that I sold at ETAR this past summer. Too heavy for me. It was pretty though

I had 2 older 1 piece blacktails.Probably made in the early 90s or in the 80s.Both were 64 inches.

I had 2 newer ones as well. Both 64 inches. They looked more more refined and artistic than the older ones I had.

They were very nice bows and shot well

Too bad they dont offer the 1 piece anymore

I had a 64” one piece for awhile. Nothing wrong with it.  I think maybe it fit longer draws better. The one I had was probably an older one as Steelhead’s comment about not being as refined as later bows seems appropriate.
