Been a lurker in the site for the past year as I transitioned from a crossbow to traditional archery. I decided to fully commit this season even with some doubts that I could get close enough to where I felt ethical (<18yds).
Well earlier this month, I did it. Got a 7pt buck at ~13 yards and sent my arrow through both lungs into the dirt on the other side and the deer dropped after ~30 yards. The sheer excitement and adrenaline rush that stuck around for the past week has me hooked.
This is my first Traditional bow deer, first archery deer, first buck, heck it’s my first deer ever with any weapon since I started hunting as an adult about 4 years ago.

Didn’t have anyone with me so did not get the picture until I got home, but other than that can’t be happier with the meat in the freezer to feed my family.
