Got my new Black Widow
« on: November 04, 2024, 09:53:51 PM »
I have been wanting a black widow for a while now and I finally was able to get one!
Now does anyone have any suggestions on a good quiver?

Congrats on a beautiful bow - I like a GN strap on quiver or Thunderhorn. Limb bolt quivers are a little cleaner in my opinion but I find I wind up never taking the bow down when I should because of them.

Nice bow!! Are you leaving the quiver on when shooting or are you like me and take it off when in stand?     I hate selway type quivers that have the fletchings fanned away from each other,, i once spooked a nice buck coming in because when i was bringing the bow up to the ready position the fletch on that first arrow scrapped against my leg!!  Now i only use and recommend quivers that keep the arrows close together like a great northern..    if you choose great northern get the quick release limb mount version,,

If you got the money get a GN and send the hood to a custom leather worker and have it redone in a reddish leather to match the stripe in your riser.

That bow is a looker. Nice buy. I have shot a 58” PCH for all my archery pursuits since 2019. I use a Great Northern bolt on quiver (riser has inserts) for hunting and have zero negative things to say about it.

I'm fairly new to a trad bow so I am still figuring some thing out, but more then likely I will remove the quiver from my bow once I'm in a tree.

Well, I think if I planned to remove the quiver frequently I would tend towards a Kwickee Quiver (spelling?). My Dad uses one in the same way you describe. That said, I actually prefer shooting my PCH with the quiver on. I like the weight.

When I shot widows I always used GN bolt ons. Congrats on the BW. They are killers

I'm a big Thunderhorn fan and have several types, strap-on, Sidewinder, and limb bolt. All high quality and quiet on the bow. Call them and tell them your woods or send them a picture and they'll match it.
Lefties are the only ones who hold the bow in the right hand.

I really like the thunder horn linx strap quiver on a Black Widow. The straps hold well, help quiet the bow, and the linx keeps everything in place. Here’s my 50th birthday bow from my wife, PMAX in bocote and black glass with a small fry linx. A buddy made a bit of a kick back bracket for me to set the gripper a couple inches further back. The small fry is a really nice hood size, holds 3 big snuffers comfortably, could easily put 4 smaller heads in there.

I like the Boa as well but don’t have one now.

Thunderhorn small fry limb bolt looks great on them. Thunderhorn will match it to the color of woods in your bow.

If it has inserts then definitely get a bolt on . If it doesn’t have inserts get some from BW and put them in the riser. GN bolt on is a good one
