I have a limited number of these books available  on my website, www.tradwoodsman.com

In my opinion this is Fred's best writing. I have read-reread this book dozens of times. My copy is gnarly and dog eared.

Some of my best memories of Fred have to do with this book.....sitting in his office, hashing over ground hunting techniques. One of the greatest things about G Fred Asbell was that he was absolutely interested in what a regular guy like me had to say.

Certain things in this book pop into my head whenever I am in the woods.

I really miss him this season. I have hunted.....a ton.....and wished I could call him or visit to just talk about  the days hunt. He always had a great perspective. I was reading this book last night and I literally had to put it down.

I read this book once every summer. Gets me a little closer to deer season in spirit.  Fred was one of my favorite outdoor writers.

I had this book but donated it and two other of his books to the St Jude’s Auction.  I wish I had it back now. One of my favorite authors for sure.

I agree that this is one of Fred Asbell's best books, even though I loved Shooting Instinctively 1 and 2. After reading this book, I spent a couple of seasons hunting from the ground exclusively with my longbow! I had so much fun and learned a ton about the area I was hunting and deer behavior.  I'm glad you brought this up it brings back such great memories I can't wait to read the book again!

Thanks,
The older I get, the more I cherish each day in the woods, and each encounter with the animals I pursue!  I look forward to learning and becoming a better hunter and woodsman by immersing myself in their world and leaving the modern world behind.

You can't go wrong reading any of Fred's books; and a great story teller besides.
