Northernmist Ramer Longbow
« on: November 26, 2024, 07:23:15 PM »
Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone is shooting this bow with a long draw length between 29-30 inches and what Steve recommended as a bow length for someone with that long of a draw length.  I'm a big fan of string follow bows, but I was wondering if that long of a draw length would be hard for him to make a bow unless it was 68-70 inches long.

Thanks,

Roger

The reverse handle might help you get into a shorter bow at your draw.

I had a replica built that was just like the Ramer essentially.Reverse handle and string follow.it was 66 inches and I draw about 29.It worked fine!

I have had several Sheltons and a Whisper. I also like string follow longbow. I expanded my draw to 30" by getting proper alignment,

I have a Hill Tembo in string follow at 70" and Mahantango Redtail Classic at 68". Craig had also made me a Wesley string follow.

Craig made a nice string follow but sadly he retired. Mahantango is a nice longbow and I think it stacks up to any other ASL longbow. There is a short wait time and very reasonable price.

Good luck

I can't speak to the long draw length, I pull just about 28". But I will say that the Ramer is my absolute favorite full sized long bow.

Thanks, guys I appreciate your input, and I will definitely have to check one out.  I normally use and shoot 62" bows, but if they are as smooth and forgiving as people are saying, I might have to try one of those sixty-six-inch bows out!
