Yet another standard Elkheart vs. Elkheart Magnum question from me  :goldtooth:

I'm looking at the subtle difference between the two grips. has anyone shot both and found that they preferred one grip significantly more than the other? I get the advantage of the more handle-forward design for the shorter Magnums. just wondering if the seemingly different shape/thicknesses etc. created a go/no-go situation for anybody.

I like the looks of the standard Elkheart grip more, but I'm intrigued with the forward design of the Magnum, because I'm looking at the shorter 52"-er and thinking it will be an advantage.

thanks in advance for any info and opinions!

Having shot both I can say that the two grips are very similar and I had no issues transitioning between them. The Magnum grip may look bigger in photos but doesn't feel bigger in the hand. That being said, Gregg will work with you to get you the grip you're looking for. He really is a master of his craft.
You just can't go wrong with an Elkheart, whether a standard or Magnum. I ultimately chose the Magnum because I wanted the shortest Elkheart I could get for my draw length.

I would encourage you to talk to Gregg about what you're looking for in a bow, he will steer you right. And even though I'm shooting a Magnum at this point, I would gladly have another standard Elkheart.

I am on the list as well with a buddy of mine for the 52” Mag. I have 2 56” and knowing Gregg I am sure I can’t go wrong with the Magnum.

@cacciatorre does one of yours happen to be one of the ones Gregg posted on his Facebook page on November 6th? those were going to Italy, and became the inspiration for the woods I asked for.

How long is the wait list?

Best to check with Gregg for an accurate estimate, but last time I checked it was 10 to 12 months.

It gives you plenty of time to think about wood combos and other options.
