If you are competing you have to have cards in by 3pm Saturday but the range stays open until Sunday noon, we decide to give awards Saturday even a few years ago because so many people that come from a long way and are packing and heading out Sunday, it has been well received. :)

Well, Pappy, it's an annual tradition for me, sure as elk opening day, that I try and figure out how to sneak away from school at the busiest time of year, and squeeze in a road trip to Tennessee in May.  Ain't gonna happen this year, once again, but I sure look forward to hearing all about it.

Yeah, Pappy, Grant mentioned a possible alternative route. I'll look into that.

It was my first time at the Classic in 2024 - I plan to make it an annual trip. It was a great time!
I drove down by myself -  it was a bit intimidating figuring out where everything was the first morning, but everyone was happy to help and I was soon registered and making my way to the practice range.  I was shooting by myself and caught up to a group of 4 gentleman.  They asked "Hey do you want to shoot with us?"  I said "Thanks, but I'm not that good, I'll probably just hold you guys up"  - "Heck we're no good either - join us"  What a fortunate encounter - I shot the rest of the weekend with those guys, and shared a campfire late into the night eating steak and sipping bourbon.  We were like old buddies before we left for our respective homes. I met up with some of them later in the summer at Compton's, and in a few weeks several of us are meeting up in central Alabama for a deer and hog hunt.
Some good people at these events.

Do I need to make a reservation beforehand if I am going to drive in and tent camp?

Pappy and the Twin Oaks gang opened up more camping places 2 years ago and generally if you need to drive out to the store or whatever it isn't a problem. No need to make reservations. For camping it is first come first served.

Thanks Pat, we should have some plenty of room but doses get tighter the later in the week, it is in the rolling hills of Tennessee so flat ground is limited and goes pretty quick. Pappy
