Bowyering tools, gear, oven, drying box needs a new home
« on: January 09, 2025, 05:51:28 PM »
I am downsizing and getting rid of my shop.  I'm not building any more bows and I would like to give this stuff to someone that could/would use it.  I am near Pittsburgh, PA and would be willing to drive a couple hours to deliver the goods - western PA, eastern OH, northern WV...   What do I have?   A 6 foot styrofoam oven for "cooking" laminated bow glue ups.  Various limb forms, clamping equipment, fire hose to pressurize glue ups. A couple pieces of laminated beams for making new forms.  A hot box or drying box for staves and anything else you are working on.  A tillering tree that can be mounted on a wall with ruled pegboard behind it.  Tools: scrapers, sanding blocks, toothing plane, draw knives, C-clamps, spring clamps.  A steaming tube.  Plus I have a big pile of dry osage lumber, mostly 8' long, different dimensions but a lot of 8/4 stuff that can be ripped into really nice lams for a bamboo backed osage bow (it's not self bow stuff).  It's hard to do this, to get rid of all this stuff, but I'm not going to use it anymore and I hate to see it go to waste, and I don't have room for it anymore.
I tried to add a couple photos:  osage wood and tillering tree.
If anyone is interested and not too far away, please respond/reply to this thread and we can figure out how to PM.  Thanks

Chisler, I'm near Butler, not too far. I'll send you a pm.
