Why would switching tabs drastically affect point of impact?

Why would switching tabs affect point of impact?

I’ve used the same tab “model” I guess from 1 manufacturer for several years. I decided to switch up and try a different model from another maker and my arrows are grouping the same but almost 10 inches left. Why? The tabs appear to be very close in size, although the material that contacts the string is different. Leather on old one, some sort of cloth on the new one. I can switch back and forth with this same result.

I don’t want to name names because both are well made by small businessmen and I don’t want to imply that one is better than the other.

Anything "different" will change things... It's probably something as simple and small as the way the tab sits against your face, thereby "changing" your anchor point? Just keep practicing with the new tab, and stick with it.
Your body will soon adjust to the change you made. Simple brain, eye, hand cordination.
I only shoot WOOD arrows... My kid makes them, fast as I can break them!

There is a fine line between Hunting, & Sitting there looking Stupid...

May The Great Spirit Guide Your Arrows..... Happy Hunting!!!

I too have been amazed by the impact that changing tabs can make. I’m sure it is what woodchucker suggested, but still surprising.

I’d use the old tab.
