Stormy Kromer hats
« on: January 28, 2025, 08:57:16 AM »
Have worn Stormy Kromer hats for many years.  They used to make a really nice short brimmed version for archers.  Just got this email from them when I asked.

"The Archer cap was discontinued for a while but the good news is that we are expecting them to come back with our fall line so unless something unexpected happens we will have them about September."

I love my Kromers but the Bowmen Classic from Sportsman’s with it’s inside ear flaps may cause me to give it a try.

I got mine in Timber Plaid - I love it.
It has become my new winter hat - wear it everywhere.

John, I got the Bowman.  I see the Button Buck has an even shorter bill, but the color/plaid selection is pretty limited.  The bill on the Bowman is plenty short for me while shooting.

Thanks for the heads up.  I'll keep an eye out for that.  I have a black plaid Stormy Kromer original I wear all winter and a blaze orange Rancher SK I wear rifle hunting and when plowing (open tractor).

My wife picked this one up for me at the factory. I like it a lot,but it's only good on the coldest days here in Texas. She knew I liked them.

Don't know what their new price structure will be come fall, but the current Kromer's at Tractor Supply are selling for around $50.

Oh the Stormy.  Growing up in Michigan I made fun of the "old guys" wearing them.  Now, I'm an old guy with about 7 of them.  In the Port Huron area, the Tractor Supply had them marked down 25% over Christmas.  And had to get another.  A local shop in Kittanning PA is going out of business and selling all their Stormy hats and vests.  Picked up two vests for $125 total.  Stormy is right up there with most trad archery.
